DRYMEN CHURCH

All welcome to Sunday morning’s Service at 11.30am, led by Rev Alex Smeed. This offers a great way to start the New Year. Groups meet during the service for children and young people. LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY

Drymen Local History Society will meet in Drymen Village Hall on Thursday January 26 at 7.30 pm. In a change from the advertised programme, Nick Hawkins will give a presentati­on on the Killearn Heritage Trail, which highlights the historic buildings and locations in the village. The society meets on the last Thursday of the month from September-november and January-april. Membership costs £10 per annum, giving free entry to all talks (special membership rate £5 for January-april). Visitors welcome, £3 per talk.

ART CLUB

Drymen Art Club holds classes in the village hall on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4pm and anybody with an interest in drawing and painting is welcome to join. The club appointed multi-media artist Iain Mcaulay as tutor during the year and he is on hand to offer guidance and encouragem­ent.

DRYMEN & DISTRICT SENIOR CITIZENS

Our first meeting of 2023 is in Drymen Village Hall on Tuesday January 17 at 2pm when we are delighted to welcome back profession­al accordioni­st Gregor Lowrey and singer Kirsten Easdale. A warm welcome awaits anyone 60 or over, including anyone from the surroundin­g villages who can join us for the afternoon paying £4 as a visitor.

Low-impact exercises and dance routines, perfect for active seniors/ beginners are held in the village hall on Fridays at 10am. Adult jazz dance class energetic work-out for adults of all ages - in the village hall on Thursdays at 7pm. KILLEARN KIRK

Morning service at Killearn Kirk on Sunday, January 8, at 10.30am, preceded by a short prayer service at 9.45am in the Kirk Hall. Tea and coffee available after the service. All welcome. Midweek Prayer Meeting on Wednesday, January 11, at 10am in the Session House. Safeguardi­ng training has been arranged for Saturday January 21 in the Kirk Hall from 9.30am12.30 pm. LOCAL HISTORY GROUP

Loch Ard Local History Group meets on Wednesday, January 11, at 7.30pm. The talk is a presentati­on from Eleanor A Young called ‘Bringing a Graveyard to Life.’ The remains of the kirk, the watchhouse and the gravestone­s have been expertly consolidat­ed and repaired by the Logie Old Graveyard Group and our speaker is secretary of the group.

Worship on Sunday will be at 10am. All welcome.

THORNHILL WARM ROOM

Warm room at the Thornhill Community Hall: come and enjoy the ground floor warm room from January 9 between 1pm and 4pm and thereafter every weekday until the end of March. There will also be full kitchen assess with compliment­ary tea, coffee and snacks, and board games/cards. Level access from the entrance, to the room, kitchen and restrooms. Thornhill Community Hall can be found on the back loan, Thornhill FK8 3QB.

NORRIESTON CHURCH

This Sunday, Morning Worship will return to the usual time of 10am. As the Minister, the Rev Ellen Larson Davidson, will be taking a short holiday, the service will be led by Mr Rob Rawson. There will be no Zoom link this Sunday. The Traidcraft stall will be open and tea and coffee will be available after the service. As ever, those who can are encouraged to bring their own mugs but we have plenty of disposable cups and everyone is welcome.
