Round Table invites bids

- STUART MCFARLANE

A local charity fund which aims to support groups and organisations helping their community has invited applications to a bumper fund after a big year of fundraising.

Stirling and Bridge of Allan Round Table are looking for beneficiaries to their Small Grants Fund, with this year’s total available topping £25,000.

It has been raised as a result of monies raised by the Round Table via a series of events over the past 12 months - including the popular Bridge of Allan fireworks display, as well as Christmas tree sales and the Santa’s Sleigh doorstep collection.

The fireworks display, fully returning to the city after a Covid-related absence was a sold-out event, with the Round Table laying out its thanks for locals in turning out.

In 2022, the Round Table helped support a number of organisations secure valuable support - such as a residential centre, PTA groups, sports and arts projects and even a sporting scholarship, with grants available from £50 all the way up to £2,000.

Chairman Jordan Henderson said: “For many years the Small Grants Fund has been the main way we’ve re-distributed money raised each year back into the local communities.

“Each application is reviewed by the Round Table committee, debated and voted on. We have a responsibility to ensure the grants are allocated fairly and in-line with the goals and aims of the Round Table.

“Last year we allocated £15,000 but this year we have a record £25,000 to give to local good causes.”

“We can’t thank the local communities enough for their generosity.”

The Round Table is a group of local individuals who meet twice a month on Tuesday to organise events aimed at bringing the community together and raise money for worthwhile good causes in the Stirling area.

To apply, visit stirlingboaroundtable. co.uk/grants/ and complete the online form. Applications close on February 19.
