Stirling Farmers’market is back on Port Street this Saturday from 10am till 4pm with 16 stallholders on hand to help with suggestions for the perfect Valentine’s meal.

Whether planning breakfast in bed or a candlelit dinner for two, the producers can help with recipe ideas, cooking times and perfect accompaniments.

Woodmill Game are bringing their extensive range of wild venison and game to Stirling for the first time.

Also making their first appearance at the Port Street market this week is Auchterarder-based Green’s Granola.

“I am a bit of a granola addict but I wanted to eat granola that was less sweet and more wholesome, contained generous quantities of nuts, seeds and fruit and was not loaded with refined sugar or syrups, ”said founder Erika Green.

“I created my own recipes and put exactly what I wanted in them.

“Following positive feedback from friends and family, I took a leap of faith and converted part of my house into a commercial micro-bakery.”

Erika’s products are now being offered at markets and independent shops across Perthshire and she is looking forward to showcasing her recipes to shoppers in Stirling.

Scottish contemporary art, locally made honey meads and a selection of craft products are also on offer at the market this week, along with Highland beef, cheese, butter and oatcakes, bread, cakes and bakery products, Scottish fish and shellfish, free range hen and duck eggs, Lebanese deli products, Ayrshire vegetables, sausage rolls, jams and chutneys and awardwinning pies.
