BURNS SUPPER
After a Covid-dictated gap of two years, Dunblane Branch of the Scottish National Party will hold their Burns Supper in the Victoria Hall on Saturday February 18 (7 for 7.30 pm). Chairman Keith Brown MSP will introduce a star-studded line-up of speakers: Mike Russell, President of the SNP, will give The Immortal Memory; Roza Salih (one of the original ‘Glasgow Girls’) will deliver the Toast to Scotland; and MSPS Jim Fairlie and Michelle Thomson will cross swords in the Toast to the Lasses and the Reply. Stuart Hepburn is performing ‘Tam o Shanter’; and music and song by Gareth Perrie, Kenny Forsyth and friends. Three-course dinner with vegetarian options, followed by tea and coffee. Private bar (cash only) serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. MENSTRIE PARISH CHURCH
Rev Mike Goodison led worship on Sunday and celebrated Holy Communion after the main service. This will be done regularly, in months where a formal
Communion service does not take place. As usual, there was the chance to share fellowship after the service over a cuppa. T-in 2 continues weekly, every Wednesday, from 10.30am until noon and all welcome. We continue to collect for the Gate foodbank and donations can be handed in at any time. Thank you to all who contributed to the nine large bags and cash sum which were delivered last week. Rev Mike is on holiday for the next two weeks so we look forward to welcoming back Jean Porter as our preacher this Sunday. On February 19 Rev Paul Sewell will lead worship.
