Appeal for info after four-car smash

Police are appealing for informatio­n following a serious crash on the A84 that left three men and a woman in hospital.

The four-car collision occurred on the A84, around three miles north of Doune, at the Landrick Bends.

The incident happened at around 5.40pm on Sunday, February 26, and involved a black VW Caddy, a black Audi RS3, a white Audi RS3 and a maroon Volvo HGV.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and several people were taken to hospital.

The driver of the VW Caddy – a 27 year-old man – was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries where his condition is described as stable. The front seat passenger – a 32-year-old man – was also taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries and his condition is described as stable.

The driver of the black Audi, a 30-year-old man, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with minor injuries and discharged after treatment. The front seat passenger, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries where her condition is described as stable. No one else was injured in the crash. Sergeant Ruth Aitchison, of the Stirling Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstan­ces and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles involved.

“In particular, if you have dashcam footage that could assist with our investigat­ion, please get in touch.”

Anyone with informatio­n of dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist the enquiry is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2711 of Sunday, February 26.
