Market is back with 21 stalls

-

Stirling Farmers’market returns to Port Street this Saturday, March 11, from 10am till 4pm with 21 stalls showcasing some of Scotland’s best produce.

In time for Mother’s Day, whether planning to cook up a Sunday roast or just spoil mum with something sweet, the market has everything needed along with friendly knowledgeable traders who are happy to advise on recipe ideas, cooking times and even the perfect accompaniments.

There are also a range of handmade crafts including sea-glass jewellery; horn effects; original artwork and prints; and soaps and bathtime products from new producer Ecopartisans.

Based in North Queensferry, Ecopartisans is a small, family-run business producing small batch, vegan-friendly and plastic-free products that aim to care for the environment as much as your skin. Founders Andrew and Alena source as many of their ingredients as possible locally and can regularly be found foraging around Fife.

“We gather berries, seaweed, flower petals and nettles ourselves and Andrew even fetches water from a natural spring a two-minute walk away to make our soap,” says Alena.

“Our packaging is mainly upcycled from deliveries we’ve had and is completely recyclable including the labelling. We truly aim to be as eco-friendly as possible and are constantly striving to do more to reduce our business’ impact on the environment.”

They have a range of around 50 products from soaps, shampoos and conditioners to body scrubs, bath soaks and even their own handmade soap dishes.

Also on offer at this week’s market will be Ayrshire vegetables, Highland beef, cheeses and oatcakes from Arran, fresh fish and shellfish, sourdough breads and bakery products, freerange hen and duck eggs, Lebanese and Greek meals and deli products, locally roasted coffee and artisan teas.
