YOUNGSTERS LOOK THE PART FOR SHIELD SHOWDOWN

-

Stirling County RFC are looking like they mean business as they prepare to take on Peebles in the rearranged U16 Boys Youth Shield final at DAM Health Stadium, Murrayfield, on Saturday.

To mark the occasion, the squad’s training kit has been sponsored by Advanced Traditional Screeding (ATS), a specialist flooring contractor based in Rosyth.

The final was originally supposed to take place on Saturday, December 10, as part of the National Youth Cup Finals but the youngsters’ big day was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Ahead of the big final this weekend, ATS managing director Jason Lister said: “it’s a huge occasion for the boys and we wanted to make it that bit extra special for them. At ATS, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting young athletes and grassroots sport whenever we can.”

“The kit looks great and hopefully they turn in a performance to match. Everyone at ATS wishes them all the best.”

Stirling County RFC Academy manager Stewart Milne said:“stirling County are very grateful to ATS for their sponsorship of the U16 boys squad for their upcoming Youth Shield final.

“It’s been a great season for the squad, a challenging first part of the season in the conference, with a slow build to then coming out with some fantastic performances to reach the shield final, with a particularly intense semi-final against Currie RFC.

“All involved are looking forward to what is sure to be a fantastic match against a very good Peebles side.

“The U16s boys have worked incredibly hard this season and their involvement in Finals Day at Murrayfield is a credit to the hard work, ability and tenacity of the players and coaches alike.

“The players are wonderfully supported by their families and it’s a brilliant squad, with a fantastic togetherness about them and this is a well-deserved opportunity for all involved.”
