Join the Coronation Big Lunch

-

People across Stirling planning to celebrate the upcoming coronation are being encouraged to join the Coronation Big Lunch.

They have the chance to receive a special letter from The King and Queen Consort commemorating their participation and are invited to nominate their area as the friendliest place to live.

Streets, schools, groups and communities who choose to be part of the historic event could also be in with a chance of winning a community garden specially designed and planted by the Eden Project, as well as £2,500 towards their next project and a Big Lunch hamper. Three runners up will also win £1000 to make community projects happen locally.

Residents can register at www. Coronationbiglunch.com.

Grainne Mccloskey, Scotland Regional Manager at Eden Project Communities, who started The Big Lunch said: “Even if you’re simply a group of neighbours who enjoy a wee chat together or you’re part of a school community, club or a local group, we want to hear from you.

“Scots are renowned for our friendliness, and this is an opportunity for people to come together sharing friendship, food and fun and to celebrate an historic event. And of course, there’s also a chance to win your community some fantastic prizes.”

Eden Project Communities will also reward three finalists with £1,000 each and Coronation Big Lunch hampers to help bring their communities together. The Coronation Big Lunch, which is made possible by The National Lottery, and supported by Iceland Food Warehouse, will form part of the celebrations for His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort’s coronation weekend.
