Top marks for nursery class

-

The Care Inspectorate has complimented the fun and welcoming environment staff create for children at Castleview Primary School Nursery Class.

The nursery class received a grading of ‘4’ (Good) for the quality of its staff team and ‘5’ (Very Good) for its setting and leadership as well as its standard of care, play and learning.

The Stirling Council provision, which provides early learning and childcare for children with acute and complex additional support needs, was visited by the national regulator in early October.

Among the areas highlighted for praise were: a culture of consistent improvement that promotes positive outcomes for children; a high standard of communication with families to ensure their views are sought; and centring decisions to improve the service around the individual needs, rights and choices of the children.

Jaki Robinson, principal teacher, said: “Our Castleview team were delighted to welcome a member of the Care Inspectorate team for a visit to our setting recently.

“Sharing an insight into the unique, fun and inclusive learning and childcare environment that our children benefit from, and accessing the robust quality assurance process that the Care Inspectorate offers, is an important part of the work of our school and nursery. We were delighted to receive such positive feedback and it is all credit to our fabulous staff team and school community – although our children make working at Castleview a pleasure.”

Councillor Danny Gibson said: “I’m delighted to see the commitment of the hardworking staff at Castleview recognised in this positive report from the Care Inspectorate. The staff and leadership team have an excellent relationship with the families and children who attend and set excellent standards of care and learning – they should be really proud of their achievements.”
