Dogs part of 10k to raise funds
Maggie’s Forth Valley’s popular fundraising event Meander to Maggie’s takes place on Friday, May 26.
The 10k walk sets off from the Kelpies and meanders all the way to the Maggie’s Centre on the grounds of Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Once back at the centre there will be a free barbecue, free drinks and a DJ.
It costs £20 to register with a £150 individual sponsorship target.
To register visit Eventbrite and search for Meander to
Maggie’s Forth Valley http://bit.ly/3lk0d94. Once registered you will be sent a free Maggie’s T-shirt to wear on the night.
Maggie’s is also inviting people to bring their dogs along and each dog will get a free dog bandana to wear.
People should arrive at the Kelpies for 4pm, where a fitness instructor will do a 10 minute warm up and then the meander will start prompt at 5pm. Participants will be put into groups and have their own group walk leader to lead the meander back to Maggie’s.
Since Maggie’s opened their first centre in 1996, the charity has developed a programme of support that is proven to help people with cancer and their loved ones take back control.
Maggie’s Forth Valley relies almost entirely on voluntary donations to be able to offer this high quality, professional support.
Since the start of the pandemic Maggie’s has been supporting people with cancer by phone, email and digitally.
The centre is now open to see people by appointment and drop in.
