The A85 between Lochearnhead and Lix Toll will be closed for roadworks for eight nights from this Sunday, May 14.

Diversions will be in place during the Glen Ogle works from 8pm to 5am.

For drivers travelling between Lochearnhead and Crianlarich, a signed diversion will be in place via the A84, A81, A811 and A82, lengthening the journey by 59 miles.

However, during periods of closure, there will be‘amnesties’at 9pm, 11pm, 1am and 3am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site.

To ensure they can be accommodated, drivers are encouraged to arrive before these periods.

Local access will also be permitted outwith the immediate works area at all times.

Emergency service vehicles will also be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period.

BEAR Scotland’s North West representative Ian Stewart said: “This resurfacing project on the A85 will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for motorists.

“For the safety of road workers and drivers, the road closure is required.

“By working overnight and providing amnesty periods, we’ve taken steps to limit the project’s overall impact on road users.

“We thank road users for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”

The overall cost of the Transport Scotland project is £310,000.

A 30mph speed limit on the Glen Ogle section will be in place from 5am to 8pm each day as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.

Exceptions to the eight-night closure are Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20.

Weather permitting, it is anticipated that the work will be finished by 5am on Wednesday, May 24.
