Boundary change views sought
Residents in rural Stirlingshire are being urged to have their say on proposed boundary changes for the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections.
The body responsible for reviewing constituencies, Boundaries Scotland, are seeking feedback on the changes at the first stage of the consultation process.
Other stages will then follow through the rest of the year preparing for the next poll, which is set for May 2026.
In the Stirling area, the changes will see Doune, Deanston, Blairdrummond and Thornhill moving from the Stirling constituency to the neighbouring Clackmannanshire and Dunblane constituency.
The review is part in place to ensure MSPS are elected by roughly the same number of people to ensure the Scottish Parliament is as representative as possible to the wider Scottish population.
The changes could look to some constituencies growing or reducing in size or voting in a new area.
It will only impact Scottish Parliament elections, with council or UK Parliament boundaries remaining unchanged as a result of this process.
Stirling MSP Evelyn Tweed said: “Constituency boundaries need to be changed every now and then to reflect population changes and it is important that these changes are informed by those they impact.
“The consultation is seeking input and will use local knowledge to continue to improve their proposals. I would encourage those in the current Stirling constituency to consider these changes and share their views with Boundaries Scotland.”
The consultation will remain open until June 17 and can be accessed via the Boundaries Scotland website.
