Farming show is back

-

Preparations are well underway for this year’s Stirling Agricultural Show.

The show will be held by kind permission of Malcolm and Calum Snowie along with Brian Gilvear at Gogar Mains Farm on June 10.

The committee have been hard at work over the last year preparing for the annual show which also became a registered charity in February 2023 and is heavily supported by their main sponsor Calido Logs.

The show field has the stunning backdrop of the Ochil hills directly behind to add to the enjoyment of the day.

The show not only offers strong competition of quality livestock, horses, and heavy horses but also allows members of the public to get up close and learn about the animals whilst enjoying all that farming has to offer.

The show is not just about the animals, there are also various trade and craft stands including the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) along with a new section for this year - the Home Industry section, which allows both adults and children to enter a variety of craft and baking type classes.

Some highlights of the main ring this year include a six horse driving team of heavy horses, a pipe band who are raising funds to go to America for the Highland Games, and the popular dog show.

Dexter Logan, chairman of the show, said: “The show not only enables the farming community to come together in a great setting and promote their stock, it is a great day of learning and entertainment for members of the public too.”

More information and ticket details can be found on the show website or Facebook page.

Children under 12 go free.
