Spring events at coffee house

Legends coffee house at the Wallace Monument has a host of events lined up for April.

On Saturday, April 6, from noon4pm, the RSPB team visits to offer advice on local birds and wildlife and how to support them through spring.

No tickets are needed to attend this event.

Birds are also a theme for another event on Thursday, April 18 from 7-8pm with speaker Tom Bowser of Argaty Red Kites near Doune.

Argaty is a working livestock farm that has diversifie­d to the benefit of both the surroundin­g wildlife and the visitors keen to see the spectacula­r birds up close.

Tom, the fifth generation of Bowsers to have lived at Argaty, will speak of his love of the area’s growing red kite population and the exciting developmen­ts which are continuing at his farm.

Doors open at 6.30pm for tea/coffee (included in donation).

Meanwhile, on Saturday, April 20, from 2-3.30pm, Stirling archaeolog­ist Dr Murray Cook leads a guided walk at Stirling’s Old Cemetery, featured in season two of the hit TV show ‘Good Omens’.

The fascinatin­g walk explores the resting place of some incredible graves from the American War of Independen­ce to the Thin Red Line, from slave owners to freedom fighters and much more.

To attend this walk, meet at Church of the Holy Rude at 2pm and ensure to wear sturdy shoes.

There is no parking at the church but street parking is available with meter charges.
