Shop is the natural choice for top award

-

A HEALTH and wellbeing store has won a national award – beating hundreds of industry rivals to the accolade.

Amaranth in Bramhall has been named as best independent retailer at the Natural and Organic Awards 2015.

Owner Joanne Hill and nutritional therapist Caroline Keighley were presented with the award by Tim and Sebastian of Pukka Herbs at a glitzy ceremony held at ExCel in London.

Amaranth were up against the hundreds of health stores from across the UK but judges selected them as winners from a final three that also included Wild Oats from Bristol and Nature’s Corner in Newbury.

A proud Joanne said she was honoured, but more than a little surprised to receive the award.

She said: “We were initially absolutely delighted to be in the final three, we made the final two years ago and that in itself was a massive achievement.

“We were up against two of the biggest, longest-standing stores in the industry so we were shocked but absolutely delighted when we were announced as winners.

“To have our achievements recognised by the biggest awards in the industry is a credit to the team here.

“They are all fully qualified nutritionists, therapists and acupuncturists trained to the highest level.

“I think the judges chose us because we are quite a unique team.

“We are able to give advice on nutrition but also organic skin care and treatments as well , so we can give complete advice rather than just pick on one area.”
