Mum thought she had a ‘funny turn’

-

A MUTE patient with motorneurone disease who survived a poisoning by Chua used an iPad to explain her shock when she realised she had been attacked.

Linda McDonagh was admitted to Stepping Hill Hospital with a chest infection on June 28, 2011.

She suffered an unexpected hypoglycemic attack after being hooked up to a drip that Chua had contaminated with insulin.

The mother-of-four, a former administrator at Bramhall Health Centre, was found slumped on her bed but recovered after she was given glucose.

Her daughter Rebecca Hildyard, 34, said: “She wrote out quite a detailed description of how it made her feel. Unfortunately, it was deleted before the police came.

“She wrote about how she got hot and confused and how it affected her vision and that she was going in and out of consciousness before passing out.

“She explained someone bringing her round quite quickly.

“She thought she’d had a funny turn and then she realised it was more than that and actually she was fortunate.

“It was frightening.”
