Passenger is critical after crash
A MAN is in a critical condition after a car crash in Stockport.
Police were called to Adswood Road at its junction with Rostrevor Road at about 8.30pm on Saturday.
Officers found a Vauxhall Astra had collided with a Renault flatbed recovery vehicle carrying a BMW.
The front-seat passenger of the Astra, a man aged 37, suffered a serious head injury, internal injuries and injuries to his pelvis and neck and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Astra and the recovery truck were uninjured.
Firefighters spent about 45 minutes at the scene getting the man out of the car before handing him over to the care of paramedics, according to a spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
