Mrs Bousfield received £1,000 and the school was awarded a further £500 to spend on science-related resources.

She said: “I was very, very honoured and proud but I couldn’t have done it without the support of the school, my colleagues and the headteacher.

“I like to provide memorable experiences for children; for example we went to a farm when we were looking at the food chain. “I am quite creative I suppose. I love my job, I enjoy it because every day is different. “I get to work with very excited young people , it’s a fun job, it’s excellent.”
