Young is ready for County challenge

Continued from back the Conference North after suffering three relegation­s in the space of four years.

Since slipping to step two in 2013, County have failed to challenge for promotion the last two seasons, but Young is confident he can get County back on an upward curve.

The 40-year-old played for Colwyn Bay and Droylsden before injury forced him to retire at the age of just 24.

He became Colwyn Bay boss in 2008, winning promotion from step four in his second season before becoming Chester FC’s first manager that summer.
