Dancing sisters get in step to earn World Cup chance
A TRIO of talented sisters from Heaton Moor will be representing England at the Dance World Cup in Romania later this month.
Darcy, Bronte and Mathilda MacMillan have been chosen from dancers across England to represent the country at the prestigious competition.
Darcy, 17, and Bronte, 13, are pupils at St Bede’s College, while Mathilda, 10, attends St Winifred’s R.C Primary School.
The girls attend the Cheshire Theatre School, each practising for around 15 hours a week.
They will be amongst 18,000 competitors from 38 different countries at the all-genre dance competition.
Darcy said: “We’re all very excited to have been chosen. This is the biggest event we’ve ever competed in and the first one outside the country.”
Bronte and Darcy will dance with other senior team members from Cheshire Theatre School in a group street dance routine, as well as in the ballet solo sections.
Mathilda will dance with junior team members from the dance school in a street dance and all three will dance as a team in a bal- let trio number,
Their dad George added: “The girls work very hard at both their dancing and their school work. St Bede’s have been very supportive of their dance commitments.”
St Bede’s headmaster, Richard Robson, added: “Darcy and Bronte have done exceptionally well to reach such a high level in their dancing. “They are also excellent students able to balance their dancing with school life. We wish them the very best.”
