Time to get down to business
WITH the elections over, it’s now time to get down to business, working for the people of the Cheadle constituency in Westminster in what promises to be an exciting future for the north of England.
It was a great privilege and honour to be elected as the Conservative MP for the region and one of my principal aims will be to ensure that businesses and enterprises here receive a fair share of the benefits that will be generated by the ‘ Northern Powerhouse’.
The major infrastructure works announced by George Osborne will help the north be more appealing to national and international trade.
They will also open new markets, with greater connectivity between our great cities.
With a background in business, having run an accountancy practice with my husband, I am passionate about small businesses as they form the backbone of the economy and employ millions of people. It is vital that investment in such enterprises increases and I will be campaigning to ensure this happens.
The importance of green spaces is another issue I am very keen on promoting. The whole issue of development, its location and size, is crucial to the preservation of good living standards and I will be watching carefully such planning applications submitted for my constituency.
As I said, there are exciting times ahead for the region and I am determined Cheadle will be sharing and enjoying them with the rest of the ‘ Northern Powerhouse.’
