Lucy in the running to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe
A BEAUTY therapist from Heaton Mersey is in the running to represent Great Britain in the Miss Universe contest.
Lucy Murray, 19, is a finalist in the UK leg of the competition.
The winner goes on to take part in Donald Trump’s Miss Universe pageant.
She will compete in the competition in Cardiff on June 27, and in the meantime she is busy taking part in a series of fundraising challenges for the Strong Bones charity.
The charity, which helps children with bone diseases, is important to Lucy, who has suffered with scoliosis.
Lucy said: “I plan on raising as much money as I possibly can for a charity I am very fond of and I know it’s going to be a challenge, but nothing worth having comes easy.
“I want to go as far as I can get in this industry and for me this is just the beginning, I believe you should start as you mean to go on.
“Miss Universe is one of the biggest pageants in the world and I think it’s going to be a huge fun-filled adventure as well as a life changing journey.”
