Thank you to those who give their time
A CHARITY has thanked those who give their time for free to mark National Volunteer Week.
New Mills and District Volunteer Centre, on Union Road, has benefited from 19,815 hours given free in the year up to March 31.
Among the activities volunteers have helped with are shopping, escorting, befriending, computer training, gardening, and administration.
National Volunteer Week ran from June 1 to 7
Centre manager Adele Gould said: “This is an outstanding amount of time, energy and skills that the volunteers gave to help people in this community.
“We wanted to celebrate National Volunteer Week by thanking all their volunteers for the amazing job they do.
“We receive many thank you cards and phone calls from satisfied clients. Well done and congratulations to all volunteers, keep up the good work you are making a real difference.”
The charity will host its annual general meeting at the centre on July 8 from 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
