Save the date for our dinner

THE chamber’s annual dinner takes place on June 25, so don’t forget to book your place.

Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, has been confirmed as one of the speakers. With local devolution and elected mayors being hot topics at present, there’s no doubt that this will be a great chance to hear first-hand what the future of Greater Manchester will look like.

We are also very pleased to announce that Jim O’Neill, Commercial Secretary to the Treasury, will deliver a keynote speech – his first since being appointed. He grew up in Gatley and worked for Goldman Sachs from 1995 until 2013, spending most of his time there as Chief Economist.

Mr O’Neill chaired the Cities Growth Commission in the UK until October 2014, when it provided its final recommendations and he is honorary chair of economics at Manchester University.

Host for the evening will be comedian and TV quiz show host Alexander Armstrong, co-host of hit show Pointless and is a regular host of Have I Got News For You.
