Crowds flock to park enjoy some festival fun
THOUSANDS of people descended on Heaton Moor Park for the annual Heatons Summer Festival.
The ever popular event featured a line- up of music and sport events, as well as a variety of family entertainment and food.
Some of the most popular attractions on the day included the falconry display and a children’s Punch and Judy show.
Musical entertainment was provided by singer Lily Jo, band Hit the North and a ukulele band, as well as variety of other performers.
The event, which this year raised money for Stockport Lamplighter, is run by the Four Heatons Traders Association and first began as a way to promote Heatons businesses, which still take part in the festivities.
Sharon Byrne, one of the organisers, said: “We didn’t get great weather, but the rain stayed away for most of the day. It was fabulous, people had a fantastic day.”
Organisers are now holding a competition to find the best photographs from the day.
The winning photo will appear in Moor magazine and the winner gets a family meal at Kro. Entries can be submitted to events@ fourheatons.co. uk.
