One knockout day raises funds for Together Trust

-

FUN-LOVERS turned out in their droves for one of the fundraising highlights of the summer.

Hundreds of people braved the rain to enjoy the annual Cheadle Festival Family Fun Day, held at the Together Trust’s campus on School Hill.

And this year’s event saw the return of the charity’s ever popular It’s a Knockout competition, which featured daring teams taking on a giant obstacle course.

The first round of the tournament was won by town centre business Wheatley Plastics – which supports the trust as its ‘charity of the year’.

Festival-goers also enjoyed a variety of attractions including arts and crafts stalls, a traditional funfair and musical acts.

The event raised more than £9,500 for the Together Trust which will go towards vital care services for young people.

Julie Williams, fundraiser at the trust, said: “Once again, we are amazed with the amount of money raised and continued support from local businesses and the community.

“The funds will be used to support a range of projects and activities, including the purchase of specialist equipment, which makes a huge difference to the lives of the young people we care for.”
