Luke cooks up a storm for When You Wish Upon a Star

-

A BRAVE youngster who has made it his mission to celebrate a national holiday every day in aid of When You Wish Upon a Star teamed up with Asda Marple for National Biscuit Day.

Luke Chapman, from Romiley, was born with a complex heart defect and has had to undergo a number of major operations.

He decided to raise funds for When You Wish Upon a Star after the charity granted his wish to meet Buzz Lightyear.

So far he has celebrated fish finger and custard day, ear muffs day and kite flying day, among many others.

For National Biscuit Day staff at the Ridgedale Centre store helped nine-year-old Luke cook up a variety of baked treats, and Asda also contributed £150 towards the cause.

Peter Dewsnip, store manager at Asda Marple, said: “We’ve been blown away by Luke’s selfless efforts to help other poorly children and wanted to help him raise money and awareness for this wonderful charity.

Luke’s mum Kelly Chapman added: “Luke had a fantastic time baking with colleagues – you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face!

“We’re so grateful to Asda for their kind donation which will help grant more wishes to children in similar situations as Luke.”
