Youngsters go for a toddle to support Barnardo’s

-

YOUNGSTERS at St Paul’s Pre School in Heaton Moor put on their walking shoes to help raise money for a children’s charity.

The children, who are all between the ages of three and five, took part in the Big Toddle to raise money for Barnardo’s.

They were sponsored to walk around the school’s grounds five times with their parents and staff.

Staff are still counting up the money the children managed to raise for the charity, and expect it will be a significant amount.

Nursery owner Heather Davitt said: ”We talked to the children and explained that not all children are as fortunate as they are, so they understood why they were doing it.

“They had a lovely time, they were singing all the way round and did it in record time this year.”

The toddle is an annual nationwide event which sees toddlers and very young children take part in sponsored walks to raise money for the charity.

All the money raised goes towards helping the charity support vulnerable children and their families around the country.
