Teen cancer pioneer visits school
AN American scientist who has discovered a new way to detect cancer, despite still only being a teenager, visited Reddish Vale High School.
Jack Andraka, 18, visited students as part of the school’s involvement with Manchester Metropolitan University’s Children’s Book Festival.
Jack, who is due to attend Stanford University, gave a talk about his school life and his work, and answered many questions from the students. He also showed a simple experiment that pupils could try at home.
He also signed copies of his book for pupils and staff.
