Care home’s art showcase

A CARE home is holding an exhibition as part of its campaign to champion arts for older people.

Sunrise Senior Living, in Bramhall, is launching the Art of Sunrise event to coincide with National Care Home Open Day on Friday, June 19.

Art of Sunrise was first launched in 2013 to promotes senior citizens’ enjoyment of artwork.

Sunrise’s specially curated art collection will be on display at its Dairyground Road base in Bramhall until Friday, June 26.

The exhibition will include works produced by residents and pieces created by the winners of Stockport Grammar School’s competition.

A range of activities will be available to the public on National Care Home Open Day, including a talk from Zoe Watson of Muse Art at 11am and an art taster session held by watercolour specialist Christine Watson from 2pm. Home cooked party food will be available from 3pm, when guests will be entertained by cello and flute duet Seranade.

Tours of the site will run throughout the day, with all welcome to attend.
