Walters hits top form for Premier League double

IAN Walters turned on the power in the Stockport Individual Premier League when he fired home tremendous darts of 18, 15, 12, 16 and 15 with a 161 outshot to beat Paul Taylor 5-2.

He then slotted home more top darts of 17, 19, 13, 20 and 27 in his 5-0 win over Ray Gamble.

Dave Adshead lost his opening game 5-3 against Taylor in 20, 12, 15, 20 and 17, he then rallied to win his final game 5-1 against Dave Beckett with superb darts of 18, 18, 14, 15 and 18.

Steve Gallimore pushed forward with two victories, the first saw shots of 23, 23, 20, 15 and 20 take out John Hyman 5-2, he followed this with finishing darts of 22, 17, 17, 20 and 20 to edge out John Traynor (17, 17, 19).

Alan Wilkinson enjoyed his three outings collecting maximum points on the night, the first was a 5-2 victory over Rick Shelmerdin­e, he then moved forward by hitting his doubles in 21, 21, 19, 20 and 17 to record a 5-1 win against Steve Graham, before checking out in 26, 18, 18, 20 and 25 to secure a 5-3 victory over Mark Daniels.

Steve Pritchard (21, 20, 24, 20 and 22) won his opening game 5-0 against Frank Guest , but lost his last game 5-3 with Steve Rogers (22, 21, 21, 18 and 26).

Derek Higgins (21, 21, 22 and 20) drew his first game with Rogers (21, 20, 17 and 27), he then moved up a gear with direct darting of 20, 20, 21, 16 and 17 for 5-3 win against Paul Holland (15, 20, 20).

Ian Dickinson continued his fine form winning both his games in five straight legs, the first saw shots of 23, 18, 24, 17 and 16 take out Jackie Wilkinson, he then completed his nights work against Rick Shelmerdin­e in 20, 19, 20, 23 and 20 darts.

Stinger Wray reached the winning post in 21, 21, 20, 15 and 20 in his 5-2 victory over Tom Booth, he then continued on his winning ways with a 5-0 win against Gamble.

In the Stockport Super League Tony Sanchez (22, 16) Chris Watts (17, 23) Ryan Moore (22, 19) Walters (19, 22) and Chris Proctor ( 22, 21) all helped Queens B to win 6-1 at Wheatsheaf B.

Fingerpost were in superb form sending Union B home with a 5-2 defeat, Nathan Aspinall (17, 15) Dave Airey (20, 18) Stuart Harding (23, 17) Tom Williams (23, 20) and Steve Pritchard (24, 23) were their five winners.

Champions elect Armoury B were 5-2 victors at Reddish Working Mens Club, Mark McGeeny 17, 14) Buck Rodgerson ( 21, 19) and Danny Kay ( 24, 21) were their target men, leaving Mick Horan ( 18, 18) with a 124 outshot to reply with a 2- 1 victory over Daz Fitton.

Steve Dewar (20, 24) Leon Ryder (21, 22) John Weigert (23, 19) were all in fine form for Star and Garter B in Premier League, who were comfortabl­e 5-2 winners against Waterloo.
