Hatters warm-up plans all in place

COUNTY have finalised their pre-season schedule after announcing a clash with Welsh Premier League side Connah’s Quay Nomads on August 1.

The game will take place at Edgeley Park on the final Saturday before the start of the new Conference North campaign.

Connah’s Quay finished seventh in the Welsh Premier League last season, earning themselves the chance to compete for a place in the Europa League first qualifying round.

They suffered a 3-2 play-off defeat to Aberystwyth though in May to bring those hopes to an end.

County’s game with Connah’s Quay rounds off a pre-season programme which begins with a trip to Shawbridge to face Northern Premier League Division One North side Clitheroe on Saturday 11 July.

Three days later the Hatters face another Welsh Premier League side as they visit Airbus UK at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium in Broughton.

The Hatters then play FC Halifax Town at home on Saturday 18 July, while Championship side Bolton Wanderers visit Edgeley Park four days later.

The other two friendlies see County make the short trip to face Macclesfield Town on Friday 24 July, before returning home to host former League rivals Burnley on Tuesday 28 July.
