Few days left to apply for £10,000

THERE’S still a few days to apply for a share of Vernon Building Society’s £10,000 fund for good causes in Stockport.

The local mortgage lender has teamed up with the Stockport Express to award funding to groups for projects that have a lasting benefit to the community.

Chief executive of the Vernon, Mike Hanson, said: “For the last three years we’ve received a real variety of applications, which is testament to the amount of great work that’s going on in Stockport.

“Even if your group is only small or is just starting out we want to hear from you – we found that the groups who received the most funding last year weren’t necessarily the largest, it was all down to how they gathered support from friends, family and those involved in the cause.”
