NO TO APPEAL

A PENSIONER who mowed down and killed a disabled pedestrian before dumping his body by the roadside has had his appeal rejected.

Joseph Edwin Wild, 74, cannoned into Keith Ambrey, from Hazel Grove, on the A6 in New Mills.

Wild, of White Knowle, Chinley, was jailed for 17 months in March after he admitted causing death by careless driving.

Appeal Court judges ruled that the sentence wasn’t ‘excessive’.
