And help point for voluntary organisations to close

-

AN organisation that is a also vital part of the local voluntary sector has announced that it will close.

Anchorpoint is based at Graylaw House, on Chestergate, in Stockport town centre, and for the past four years has helped other groups with funding, volunteering and information services.

But it will shut from Tuesday, June 30, having assisted more than 400 charities and community groups

A statement on its website said: “We wish everyone continued success in their endeavours.

“The trustees would like to thank the staff for their hard work and dedication.”

The statement also says the Stockport Council is ‘developing a new offer to voluntary groups based around local communities, supported by access to easily available information’.

The organisation linked voluntary groups with each other and private firms via events, social media, training and one-to-one support.

Support similar to that offered by Anchorpoint can also be found from the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation, located at Ardwick Green North, Manchester.
