Family says big thank you

-

THREE sisters took part in the starlit stroll to say ‘thank you’ to the hospice which looked after their late mum.

Janine Fletcher, Cheryl Fletcher and Sharon Weaver were among 2,000 fundraisers who trekked the streets of Manchester city centre for this year’s Midnight Walk.

Tragically their mum, Dorothy Critchlow, who worked as a secretary at British Gas in Bredbury, passed away in 2009 at the age of just 59 after a battle with cancer.

But the three siblings say they will never forget the care she received at St Ann’s during her final days.

Daughter Janine, from High Lane, said it had been a poignant evening for her family.

She said: “Mum chose to spend her last days in the hospice at Heald Green after she was a day care patient for three years.

“She was made to feel comfortable there and the walk is a night of mixed emotions for our family with sadness but such a good atmosphere as well.”

Her sister, Sharon, was joined by her husband Ian, daughter, Toni and step-daughter Faith as the family paid tribute to St Ann’s.
