Gruffalo at historic house
CHILDREN’S favourite The Gruffalo is coming to Lyme Park this summer.
The National Trust park will be exhibiting original artwork by Axel Scheffler, illustrator of The Gruffalo and other books including The Gruffalo’s Child and Room on a Broom, from June 27 to August 31.
To celebrate, there will be Gruffalo-themed activities for all the family to enjoy. Families can go in search of their favourite characters on a Gruffalo Trail around the garden and there will be storytelling and picnics.
Mr Scheffler will be there on the opening day to sign books and read stories.
Rachael Walker, visitor experience assistant at Lyme Park, said: “We are expecting a very busy summer in the garden as The Gruffalo is a favourite of so many children – and their parents.”
The exhibition, trail and activities will be open every day from 11am-5pm – see www.nationaltrust.org.uk/lymepark.
