Town’s brews to be in Co-op stores

ROBINSONS Brewery will supply The Co-op’s food stores with more than 30,000 pints of ale.

Golden ale Dizzy Blonde and Trooper, created with heavy rock legends Iron Maiden, will be stocked in shops across the region.

The listings are part of the Co-op’s move to sell beer brewed near to its local stores.

David Carter, off-trade consultant at Stockportbased Robinsons, said: “It is tremendous news, a real coup to get two of our brands listed at The Cooperative and a bigger deal than we dared to anticipate.

“We pride ourselves on taste and quality which we know is an approach shared by The Co-operative, we are fully supportive of their local focus.”

Joe Turner, The Co-op’s real ale buyer, said: “The popularity of Robinsons’ beers is impressive and, as a convenience retailer at the heart of the community, this is an important step in our commitment to offering more quality, locally sourced produce in our stores.

“It’s exciting to collaborate with breweries such as Robinsons, and we hope our customers really enjoy the new selection of ales that we now have on offer.”
