Brabyns heroes save the day

-

YOUNGSTERS in the reception class at a Marple primary school showed off their heroic sides when they embarked on a mission to save their headteacher.

The superhero day was held by Brabyns Preparatory School on Arkwright Road as to tie in with the superheroes topic being studied by the children aged four and five.

It also coincided with Marple Carnival, which was held over the weekend and this year had a superheroes theme.

The day began with a ransom note and video message from the Green Goblin, explaining that headteacher Lee Sanders had been kidnapped, and the pupils would have to embark on special challenges in order to find him.

These covered all areas of the curriculum, including PE and literacy.

Mr Sanders said: “Theme days such as this provide a great opportunity to enrich our normal timetable and build upon the specialist teaching our children receive every day.”
