AN antiques roadshow is due to take place at The Railway in Marple on Thursday, June 25, and then at The Midland on Brabyns Brow on Friday, June 26.

It will be on between 12 noon and 4pm on both days and readers are invited to bring gold, silver, antiques, coins, curios, jewellery, clocks, watches, antique weapons and anything else for free valuations and appraisals.

Voluntary donations are invited for The Alzheimer’s Society and Macmillan Cancer Support.

THE Friends of Torkington Park are holding a picnic concert in the secret garden on Sunday, July 26.

It will be on between 2pm and 4.30pm, and live music will be provided by Hazel Grove Brass Band.

Tickets cost £4 and children under five go free.

SHORT Street United Reform Church in Hazel Grove is holding a jumble sale on Saturday, June 27.

It will be on at the church between 10am and 11.30am, and admission is 30p.

Refreshmen­ts will be available and there is a

free car park.

THE Friends of Marple Memorial Park June task day will take place on Saturday (June 27).

Members will be carrying out tasks between 10am and 2pm, and anyone is invited to go along and help for as long as they like.

MARPLE Locks Festival is due to take place on Sunday, July 5 in Memorial Park.

It will be on between 10am and 4pm, and there will be a variety of activities including boat trips, a barbecue, guided walks, stalls, and presentati­ons to the winners of the poetry competitio­n.
