Vale students on parade
STUDENTS and staff from Reddish Vale High School took part in the Manchester Day parade.
The school worked with Dance Manchester to form part of the parade’s ‘futuristic zone’.
After rehearsing all day on Saturday, those who took part got to dance along Deansgate in the city centre on Sunday, while dressed in American Football-style shoulder pads, wearing silver face paint.
School dance teacher Lissie Place, said “The students have worked really hard to complete their dance sequence. It has been one of those moments that as a teacher makes your job worthwhile. The respect, aspiration, determination and independence these students have shown has been phenomenal.”
Assistant headteacher Dean Thomas-Lowde said: “The values of students aspiring and taking part is fundamental to our work.
“Engaging and performing with the community is where we want to firmly place Reddish Vale.
“These students are a credit to the school and their families, but most importantly themselves.”
