Talented teen belts up for euro contest
A TEENAGE Tae Kwon Do star has been selected to represent her country at a major international tournament.
Holly Kelly, 13, from Cheadle will join up with the Great Britain team at the Cadet European Championships in the Strasbourg, France next month.
The high-kicking youngster, who trains with town centre academy Jeon-sa Taekwondo, will join a 15-stong team which will compete in the tournament’s 44kg division.
Holly, who hopes to follow in the footsteps of Olympic champion Jade Jones, trains with her club four times a week and at the National Academy in Manchester most weekends.
Her coach Nick Brinklow believes the talented teen has a bright future ahead of her. He said: “Holly is one of the most exciting, young prospects in the country.
This is an amazing opportunity for Holly and she can’t wait to represent GB in the European Championships. Her ultimate goal is to win gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and I believe she has the talent to go all the way!
“We’d like to thank everyone for their support in raising funds for Holly and a special thanks to her sponsors at MySuperT. com.”
