Anti bullying stance gets Diana award

-

STOCKPORT Academy has become one of just three schools in the country to be named a Diana Award antibullying showcase school.

The honour has been given in recognition of work done to prevent or deal with any bullying.

The school, on Heathbank Road, Cheadle Heath, has a team of peer mentors who act as role models for other students and they were filmed by crews from the AntiBullying Ambassadors project.

A resulting video will be used by the charity to promote how schools can encourage an atmosphere of inclusivity and respect.

To mark and promote national Kindness Day pupils handed out gifts to each other, there were dance performances and a charity bake sale.

Waterloo Road actress Rebecca Craven also visited, spending time chatting to the peer mentor group about the work they do.
