Harding blasts his side to victory

STUART Harding turned on his top performanc­e of the season in the Marple League, when he blasted home tremendous darts of 13 and 12 with two 180 maximums.

It helped his team, Navigation Woodley, send Grapes Hazel Grove with a 5-2 defeat.

He was joined in the winners enclosure with Dave Airey (15, 17) Shaun Barlow (20, 18) Tom Williams (18, 22) and Danny Kay (19, 22).

Paul Taylor was once again in fine form when he won the Star and Garter knockout, firing home first class darts of 15, 14, 15, 16 and 19 to edge out Dave Adshead (14, 16, 16 and 24).

In the quarter finals Taylor ( 14, 15 and 22) sent out Ben Simpson 3- 1, for a place in the Semi finals against John Traynor, where the Stockport sharp shooter hit his doubles in 17, 13, 19 and 18 for a 4- 2 win.

Adshead ( 15, 17, 17) won his quarter final game by the odd leg over Lee Taylor ( 23, 18), for a place in the last four against Steve Atkinson, where he reached the winning post in 22, 18, 19 and 18 darts.

Entrance fee is £ 25 for the twelve week season with prize money going down eight places, the format is best of eight legs of 501, two points for a win one for a draw.
