Three more new arrivals on Young’s radar

NEIL Young’s revolution of Stockport County is set to continue this week with several new signings on the verge of joining the club.

The Hatters boss wants to tie up deals for two new arrivals, while another incoming transfer could also take place early next week.

Young has been keen to stamp his authority on the County squad since he was appointed manager, and he expects the moves to be confirmed imminently.

“We’re hoping to possibly bring in one or two wingers within the next few days,” he said.

“The other lad is a forward that can play in a wide position too, so I’m glad we can strengthen in that area.

“We’re working very hard behind the scenes to bring the right players to this club and hopefully we’ll have those deals done soon.”

Stockport have made a number of signings so far this summer, bringing in a mixture of experience­d and up-and-coming players.

While Young acknowledg­es some County supporters would have preferred more high-profile signings, he insists the players he is bringing in are right for the club.

“A lot of the fans want household names but it’s important that we strengthen the full squad in its entirety so it’s about making sure we make the best use of the budget,” he said.
