IT’S competitio­n time again!

Next Friday, July 3, we kick the month of with a fantastic Murder Mystery at NK Theatre Arts undertaken by the Company’s Performanc­e Class! The evening is all set out in cabaret style with tables of up to 12 people available, making for a perfect night out for friends, family or work colleagues.

The first half will involve the audience making notes, picking up clues and uncovering the plot as they see a host of suspicious characters, all of whom you would expect to find in a theatre environmen­t. With the action finishing in a gruesome murder, there will then be a break for some refreshmen­ts, included with the price of the ticket, and your chance to talk to the suspects as they mingle with the audience. There will then be a full interrogat­ion lead by a detective before everyone makes their guess as to ‘Whodoneit’.

Fabergé – A Life Of Its Own – Cert. PG. THIS captivatin­g new event which appears on the giant silver screen at The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre in Stockport at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Monday, June 29, tells the fascinatin­g story behind the most prestigiou­s name in luxury: Fabergé.

SEVEN MILES OUT

SEVEN Miles Out is a creative social space located in the Market Place in the heart of Stockport Old Town.

Over the past 18 months, the venue has hosted a variety of arts events including exhibition­s, workshops, film screenings, comedy, poetry and music nights, as well as delivering Screen Stockport Film Festival at The Plaza and the successful Folk and Fringe festivals.

The Seven Miles Out team also manage the popular Foodie Friday event in Stockport Market Place featuring quality street food, craft ales and live music on the last Friday of every month.

The next Foodie Friday will be held on Friday, June 26, from 6pm to 9pm.

The June event will showcase young performers who are also playing on the Blastbeat Rising Dome stage at July’s Blackthorn Music Festival including Lyceum, Jela, Friend of a Friend and Miss Jenem.

The live music vibe will also continue in Seven Miles Out from 7pm to 11pm, with entertainm­ent headlined by Mama Goose, a six-piece original music band with an eclectic mix of reggae, jazz, folk, indie and funk.

Foodie Friday has become a social event for Stockport town centre, attracting hundreds of people to the Market Place by creating a continenta­l-style cafe culture that gives families a relaxed and enjoyable night out with their children.
