Coffee shop crook jailed

-

A THIEF who struck at three coffee shops in one day has been jailed.

Noel Steadman, 42, targeted two branches of Cafe Nero and a Starbucks, in Manchester city centre, stealing purses, a mobile phone and a laptop.

A week later, he stole another phone from the Quadrangle, a block of flats off Oxford Road, also in the city centre.

Steadman, formerly of Essex Road, Brinnington, admitted four counts of burglary when he appeared before a judge at Manchester Crown Court. He was jailed for two years and four months.

The crook crept into staff rooms at the three coffee outlets on Sunday, May 10, stealing purses and a mobile phone plus a rucksack and laptop.

Steadman was caught after a resident spotted him lurking inside The Quadrangle and rang police who arrested him.
