ABRAVE teenager living with incurable bone cancer had the ‘best night of her life’ at a surprise birthday party thrown to celebrate her 17th birthday – complete with a marriage proposal.

Emma Capper from Cheadle had no idea the secret bash at Edgeley Park had been planned by the Cinderella Project – an offshoot of the Runway on the Runway fashion show which raises funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

And she was further stunned when boyfriend Dion Dunn sprang a wedding proposal on her.

Emma spent the day being treated to a special pamper experience cour- tesy of the Cinderella Project.

And after a VIP hair appointment, luxury manicure, pedicure and make-up treatments and a photo-shoot with celebrity photographer Tony Blake she was whisked away to the secret venue.

Emma, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when she was just 12, later took to Facebook to thank everyone involved in the celebration.

She said: “I had an amazing night surrounded by all of the people I love the most.

“Every single person in that room has influenced me in some way. I cried with happiness so many times and I danced more than I ever have before.”

Mum Cheryl added: “It was absolutely amazing, it couldn’t have gone any better, it was exactly how I dreamt it would be – It was perfect.

“This has made up for everything she has missed out on like school proms and her sweet sixteenth.

“She said it was the best night of her life and that her cheeks hurt from smiling. She danced all night, it was just everything rolled into one.

“The smiles just didn’t end, she was smiling from the minute she got through the door until 2am in the morning. I’ve never seen her smile so much.

“She has had so much rubbish fighting cancer and this took away every single nasty thing that has happened.”

Top US designer Sherri Hill provides free dresses for Runway on the Runway, provided they are donated to teenagers undergoing cancer treatment.

Emma was nominated to received a dress and when founder Margo Capper realised she didn’t have a special event to wear it to began planning the surprise celebration.

Margo said: “Nobody deserved this more than Emma. For a young girl to go through so much in such a short time and still come out of it as a lovely young lady, she is a bit of an angel.”
