Very good deal for the town
STOCKPORT County bosses say a deal with council chiefs to buy Edgeley Park to save it from potential development is the next step towards the club owning the ground again.
A statement from the club following the council meeting read: “We believe this arrangement is good for everyone connected with the town and the club.
“Not only does it secure the future of our spiritual home but it also allows us to plan for the future with confidence as we look to continue the rebuilding of our club.
“It is also a good deal for the council and the people of Stockport, who have gained a valuable and iconic asset with a guaranteed financial return at no cost to the taxpayers.”
