Disco fever night will boost appeal


GET your dancing shoes on this summer to help Beechwood’s Silver Wing Appeal to reach its target and help more patients.

If you are a fan of 70s and 80s soul and disco, go along to Stockport Plaza for Disco Fever on Saturday, August 15.

Artists that will be performing include The Real Thing, Odyssey, and Gwen Dickey, Rose Royce’s lead singer, with combined hits such as ‘ You To Me Are Everything’, ‘Use It Up And Wear It Out’ and ‘ Car Wash’.

Special guests also including the Night Owl Soul Club and the evening will be hosted by the legendary ‘Leroy Lurve’.

Tickets start from £20 and include a donation to Beechwood for its Silver Wing Appeal.

Paul Taylor, chief executive of Imagine FM, who are hosting the event, said: “Over the last 12 months we have raised money for Beechwood with our events in Merseyway shopping centre and it seemed like a natural thing to do to extend it to our other events. “Beechwood is such a great cause and they do amazing work, I really hope that we can make a good contributi­on with Disco Fever’

The Silver Wing Appeal, set up to mark its 25th anniversar­y of serving the community, aims to raise £100,000 to enhance patient experience and extend community facilities, including a new café and charity shop.

Angela Gray, fundraisin­g manager at Beechwood, Chelford Grove, Bridgehall, said: “I am delighted Imagine FM are continuing to support us. Disco Fever will be a great night and I’m sure it will raise lots of money for the Silver Wing Appeal.”
